Today is the 4th anniversary of my step-father passing away.
I miss you, Carl.
While I can still remember things clearly…
C and I showed up a little early to the show. We didn’t want to have to deal with traffic being backed up and waiting in line forever to get through security. She was also really worried that she wouldn’t be able to sneak her camera in, so we were pretty apprehensive when we approached the doors to get in. We had no problems, though....
Kanye West, Rihanna, N.E.R.D, and Lupe Fiasco tonight. Très excited. My friend managed to get floor seats, 3 rows back from the stage. This will be the best seats I’ve ever had for a concert, and it’s pretty awesome that it’s for a show that I like all of the acts performing. Coldplay made their first single, Violet Hill, available for download today. I like. A lot. Got a lot...
Album release details Coldplay’s fourth album, ‘Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends’ is out in June. The release dates are as follows: UK - June 12 USA & Canada - June 17 Japan - June 11 Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Ireland - June 13 Australia/NZ - June 14 ROW - June 16 I think this is the first time ever that I have seen an album release date...
It feels like autumn outside. This week should be fun. No sarcasm there. :)
Ah. April is approaching its end. Time to turn my attention to the most important thing looming in the month of May: my birthday.
This year it’s on Memorial Day. As a kid, I hated when it fell on the last Monday in May because everyone would be out of town and/or at cemeteries paying tribute to dead relatives. Now, as an adult, I relish it because I know I won’t have to work and...
Lots of good and lots of bad going on right now. I am beyond stressed.
I never know what to say or think when I’m the object of a person’s drunk dialing. “Gee…thanks for thinking of me while in your inebriated state of mind?”
There are very few things in life that make me as happy as the Yankees-Red Sox series. Alex Rodriguez is 1 home run behind Ted Williams on the all time list. Let’s Go Yankees!
Oh, dear. I just saw a couple of Mormons in long black skirts and too much protective gear on brightly colored bikes. I think they’re on their way to my house.
I live in a really old house. Like all old houses, the foundation has shifted and cracks in the building have formed. From the cracks come the most ginormous beetles I have ever seen in my life. I didn’t think beetles of this size existed in North America. Someone should notify the National Geographic channel. These beetles wiggle their way into my home, only to die an excruciating death on...
It should be illegal for storms to occur during the daytime.
Last night, when a friend picked me up, she talked about what her pores would say if they could talk. When I wrote creatively, my favorite trope was personification.
Here’s some that I think of right now:
My degree checklist hanging next to my computer: “Will you stop circling classes on me and just graduate,...
You’re dead—-let’s disco!
Actually, correction. Manny isn’t sucking as much as I thought. So my disdain should actually be for Andruw Jones. Fucking Andruw Jones!
I’m playing Fantasy Baseball this season. My team SUCKS. It’s ranked 20th in a league of 20 teams. Fucking Manny Ramirez.
The highlights of my Sunday have been the new Mariah Carey album leaking and finding a perfect package of Carol’s Daughter products for my hair. My life is so exciting.
Does looking at class schedules making everyone want to vomit, or is that something specific to me?
So. Speaking of Revolutionary Road. It’s about a very troubled young couple. Set in the 1950’s. Full of self anaylsis. Perspectives from different people in their lives. The couple is trying to “fix” themselves and each other. The wife, April Wheeler, really hit a nerve with me. Hell, if I’d been born during the time period where women pretty much had to get married,...
Finished Revolutionary Road today. I’m…disturbed by it. In a good way, if it’s even possible to be positively disturbed—- oxymoron, no? I’ll elaborate later. I want to sleep on it.
